Horseshoe Knife Class
These short workshops are a great way to try your hand at forging! Forge your own horseshoe knife. Each session only takes about 30 minutes and is appropriate for ages 8 and up. Class sizes are limited so that each student receives instruction tailored to their skill level. This is a fun class for beginners and experts alike! Check availability here.

Introduction to Blacksmithing
Designed for adults and children ages 8 and up, this class allows participants to forge their own hook and horseshoe knife. During this 1.5 to 2 hour class, students will learn basic forging techniques, an overview of tools and equipment and a brief history of the craft. Please note that at least one parent/guardian must be present for the entire duration of the class. Adults are welcome to join and make their own hook and knife; pricing for adults is the same as kids.

Get Hammered
This one is special y’all. Join us for our first Get Hammered of 2025/ Night Owl’s Re-Grand Opening on April 12th from 6pm-10pm! We’ve been busy making some major changes over the last few months and we’re throwing shindig to celebrate and welcome the community to our updated digs!
Come kick it with us for a dang good time featuring live music, cold beverages, delicious eats from one of our favorite local food trucks, and some of the best company around! 2-Day Damascus Workshop
This 2-day workshop includes lunch from Main Street Market in Rutherfordton and one other local restaurant! This class is scheduled for Friday AND Saturday from 9am to around 5pm. As always, class sizes are limited to ensure that you receive a unique hand's on experience. You leave with a fully finished damascus knife on the second day.

Foxfire Blacksmithing Hammer-In
Join us for this community event for both blacksmiths and the general public! Walk through the Foxfire Museum and visit with blacksmiths from throughout Southern Appalachia.
